So I went ahead and clicked all the radio buttons, but I thought some of the answers didn't reflect my opinion. I know I'm probably over thinking this, but it might help you so I figure why not.

For your first question I think that our divorce rate is so high due to our channel changing, immediate gratification lifestyle as americans. If you look at americans 50-100 years ago, when something in their lives sucked, they either had to deal with it or start a frickin' movement to change it. Today all we need do is change the channel, file a suit, put our other option in the microwave, etc.
